The future millionaire was born in Georgia, where he attended North Clayton High School and befriended a famous R&B artist Monica. For those who have not heard much about this star, Monica Denise Brown is not only a singer, known for such hits as “Before You Walk Out of My Life” and “Don’t Take it Personal”, but also a record producer and actress. Compared to the fortunes of his former classmate, 2 Chainz net worth looks rather miserable: Monica’s assets are currently evaluated at $15 million. Not only Tauheed was a great student (he finished 2nd in his class), he also excelled at basketball. 2 Chainz’ sports skills earned him a scholarship to study at Alabama State University.
In 1997 Tauheed returned to his hometown College park and together with his friend Earl Conyers formed Playaz Circle. Although the two did their best to work their way onto the big scene, there were no record labels willing to offer them a contract that would be worth attention. It was not until 2002 that Playaz Circle their debut independent album United We Stand, United We Fall. Although the CD was not commercially successful and did not add much to 2 Chainz net worth, it led him to the famous rapper and record producer Ludacris, who signed Playaz Circle to his label Distributing tha Peace. In 2007 the duo released its first major label album Supply & Demand, which spawned a couple of hits, topped Billboard Rap Albums chart and peaked at No. 27 on Billboard 200.
Another important source of 2 Chainz net worth is his solo career, which took off less than two years ago. His debut solo album, recorded under the label Def Jam and titled Based on a T.R.U. Story, reached the stores in August 2012. Due to the success of three singles, “No Lie”, “Birthday Song” and “I’m Different”, the album hit Billboard 200 at No. 1, selling almost 150 thousand copies during the week after release.
