Before he came back to the United States to work as a full time chef, Emeril Lagasse was also studying cooking art in Paris and Lyon, France.

In 1986 his wife finally divorced from him. With her, he had two kids, who moved with their mother to Massachusetts.
In 1990 Emeril Lagasse launched his first restaurant, which was called “Emeril’s”. The restaurant offered Spanish, French, Italian, Asian and Caribbean menu.
